An inventory involves valuing a collection of movable assets in view of putting it up for sale or to obtain an official document for calculating an inheritance, division, insurance policy, wealth tax declaration, donation or acceptance in lieu.

"To advise a family on a division, an inheritance or the management of movable assets, you need in-depth knowledge about the objects, their value and the applicable tax rules. Above all, you need to have common sense, so that you can solve problems, not create new ones. As an objective mediator, I can guide the families through this particular stage, facilitate discussions based on factual and transparent information and adjust the division of the property fairly and with respect for the wishes expressed. I have these abilities, and over the last 50 years, they have helped me see a considerable number of family operations through, successfully and smoothly, whether the capital involved was large or small.”

Claude Aguttes, Chairman and auctioneer

"Having worked alongside Claude Aguttes for over 20 years, my training and 35 years in the profession have given me the tools to support and advise you with a division, an inheritance or the management of moveable assets. I provide friendly professionalism, and am there to help you from the inventory to the division or sale.”

Proximity and responsiveness

We can mobilise our 17 in-house experts in a very short time to come and meet you in France and all the major cities in Europe. Each of them can then draw on their expertise, know-how and knowledge of the market to give you the best possible advice, in complete confidentiality.

Inventories

A detailed list of each item of significant value is given to you during the week following our visit. If the inventory is carried out but does not lead to a sale, a preliminary estimate may be given, as a fee will be charged based on the total valuation of your property. If the inventory results in the sale of your items, the fee will be totally or partially cancelled.   An inventory is essential when dividing up a property, but it is also extremely useful for organising a future inheritance in advance, in terms of both the tax implications of movable property bequests and the division of assets between heirs.

Our general knowledge and experience mean that we can provide you with the advice you need to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Most of the time, an inventory is carried out at your home by an auctioneer, assisted by in-house experts if necessary.
