Fine Wines & Spirits
It was in the early 1920s that Pierre Ramonet began his work in the world of viticulture. With little money in his pocket, he purchased land that he would carefully nurture and develop to produce increasingly flavorful wines. Pierre Ramonet's descendants, Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, are now in charge of the vineyards. This latest generation has chosen to respect the wishes of their predecessor, Pierre Ramonet. As a result, they have expanded the estate to a total of 17 hectares and have diversified their vineyards, offering a variety of wines. One brother manages the vineyards, while the other oversees winemaking and wine sales.
Ramonet wines are exceptional, and as such, the distribution channel is very limited, reserved for restaurateurs, wine merchants, and exporters. Exporting is very important for the business, as it is what allowed them to grow so quickly and become so well-known. From the early days of the company, an influential American discovered Pierre Ramonet’s vineyards and wines. He immediately fell in love with the Burgundy wines and helped introduce them to the USA. Since then, the house has exported 75% of its bottles abroad, with 25% going exclusively to the USA.
The Ramonet estate offers full-bodied, aromatic white wines as well as dense red wines. The company owns three Grand Cru AOCs: Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet. These Grand Crus are white wines made from Chardonnay. The Ramonet estate also holds Village AOCs such as Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet.
Ramonet wines are highly sought after and appreciated around the world. We have had several opportunities to auction bottles from this prestigious estate.
