Marbled fawn half-basane with small corners of the period, smooth spine highlighted with gilt fillets, oval volume number label and red morocco label with gilt title, blue laid endpapers (Binding shows signs of wear (spine), corners worn, a few pinholes).

There are several editions and counterfeits of Emile from 1762. According to Tchemerzine, the first edition, in 12mo or 8vo format, although bearing the address of Néaulme in Amsterdam, was printed in Paris for Duchesne.
