Royal blue morocco, raised ribbed spine, author, title and date in gold, richly decorated panels, double framing on the covers consisting of a triple fillet and three fillets adorned with small laurel scrolls and angular fleurons, all in gold, gilt edges, gilt lace on the headbands, gilt edges, cover preserved [Marius Michel] (a few minor signs of wear).
An illustrated edition featuring 21 drawings by Louis Morin, reproduced in the text and enhanced with watercolours.
In a beautiful morocco leather binding, perfectly bound by Marius Michel.
Limited edition of 500 copies, including 150 on white vellum paper; this is no. 7, hand-collated by the publisher with the watercolour illustrations.
A fine copy enriched with two libertine watercolours by Morin, the first a signed frontispiece and the other opposite page 1, monogrammed LM; including the subscription voucher and a set of black-and-white illustrations printed on laid paper.
