2 volumes in-8, (5)-434 pp. and (4)-490 pp. Red morocco decorated with a large monogram featuring scrolls and a royal crown in gold on each cover, plain spine decorated with panels of gold fillets, title and volume number in gold, gilded scrolls on the endpapers, moiré endpapers, gilt edges (some scuffing, leather slightly faded and one cover slightly worn, some stains and rubbing, one endpaper page cut off in Volume I).

Probably a presentation copy bearing the large crowned gold lettering ‘LPO’ for Louis-Philippe d’Orléans.

A fine copy printed on laid paper with an engraved frontispiece portrait.
