Large 8vo. Red morocco, raised ribbed spine, author, title and date in gold, multiple gold fillets framing the panels, covers and endpapers, double gold fillet on the headbands and footbands, multiple gold fillets on the capitals, original cover preserved [Chambolle-Duru].

The illustrations consist of a frontispiece portrait of the author engraved by Léon Boisson after Deveria, and 15 compositions by A. Michelena, including a plate, a header vignette and a footer for each act.

Printed in an edition of 500 copies, including 150 special editions on Japanese paper or Marais vellum, this one being no. 25, on Japanese paper.

Engravings accompanied by two black-and-white frontispieces.

The illustrations consist of a frontispiece portrait of the author engraved by Léon Boisson after Achille Deveria, and 15 compositions by A. Michelena, including a plate, a header vignette and a tailpiece for each act.
