8vo, 244 pp. Contemporary fawn morocco, raised ribbed spine, author, title and date gilded, decorated panels, fillet binding, gilded metalwork and dots interspersed with small flowers, double gilded fillet on the headbands and endpapers, lace on the headbands, endpapers and half-titles lined with olive-coloured moiré silk, original cover preserved [Chambolle-Duru] (minor flaws).

A fine copy, beautifully bound in fine morocco leather by Chambolle-Duru.

An illustrated edition featuring 28 compositions by Oreste Cortazzo, an Italian painter and engraver and pupil of Léon Bonnat, finely etched by Abot and Clapès. 

Single print run, limited to 1,000 copies, including 150 on Japanese and Dutch paper; this is no. 52 on Japanese paper, hand-verified by the publisher.

Etchings accompanied by two black-and-white plates.
