Contemporary fawn calfskin, spine with broad faux raised bands highlighted with gilt or blind-stamped fillets, attractive repeated romantic gilt tools, blind-stamped motifs, gilt title, covers richly decorated with a cold-stamped garland, motifs in the spandrels and a large central romantic metal stamp, guilloché cuts, gilt roulette on the cuts and fore-edges, gilt edges (slight stains and darkening to the binding, some scuffing to the covers, a small tear in the leather, a few scattered foxing spots).
A fine copy in a beautiful Romantic binding by Simier, the King’s bookbinder.
