Large 4to, vii–334–(1) pp., colour title-page and frontispiece, plates and fold-out map. Contemporary gilt vellum binding, spine with faux raised bands edged with black fillet, gilt title, compartments decorated with gilt metalwork and gilt fillet, double framing of multiple gilt fillets with metalwork at the corners, gilt head (foxing on the binding and interior, upper joint split by a few centimetres).
A 19th-century Castelroussine print in its original gilt vellum binding.
The illustration comprises a colour-enhanced frontispiece title page, numerous lithographed plates by Isodore Meyer in black, and a fold-out map.
Decorative lithographed borders on the text pages.
