In-16, 285 pp. Brown morocco, ribbed spine, author’s name, title and date in gold, panels framed by five gold fillets, covers decorated with several frames formed of 12 gilt lines, inner covers lined with morocco leather and adorned with gilt lines, beige split-leather endpapers and linings, gilt edges on guard strips (minor snags on 3 raised bands).

A fine copy.

An illustrated edition featuring works by Gustave-Adolphe Mossa: 6 plates, including 1 frontispiece, numerous vignettes and tailpieces, all in colour, and initials printed in bistre.

Limited edition of 970 copies: one of the 30 special copies on Japanese paper (no. 18), containing 

four states of the illustrations, and an original watercolour by the artist, signed.

- 2 sheets on card featuring 12 small original sketches in ink and watercolour, intended as notes for the illustrations for *The Marriage of Figaro*.

- 3 original drawings by Robaudi, signed, in ink and with colour highlights, intended to illustrate the same text.
