Small 8vo, (1)-260 pp., on laid paper. Contemporary dark brown morocco, ribbed spine with a dotted gold title, gilt edges, wide gold lace border on the covers, 6 (later) coloured silk bookmarks bound with tassels of gold-threaded passementerie (tarnished), orange silk endpapers (some wear to the bookmarks, some minor rubbing, copy possibly rebound). A handwritten sheet bound after the upper endpaper commenting on the work (19th century).

A superb volume, entirely designed and engraved on copper with a burin by Louis Senault, a master French writer and engraver (1630–c. 1680).
