Illustrated by Charles Delort and Maurice Leloir with 32 etchings, including 16 plates.
The publication in 1894 of this novel, inspired by the epic life of the Duchess of Berry, was accompanied by an exhibition in Paris of Leloir’s watercolours used for the illustrations.
