In-12, (3) leaves including a frontispiece, 83 pp. Contemporary cream vellum Bradel binding, author’s name, title and date handwritten in blue on the spine with red ornamentation, original cover preserved, in a marbled slipcase with a vellum bias binding [Carayon] (a few very slight pinholes on the covers, small foxing spots on the endpapers).
First separate edition and first printing of the author’s illustrations, comprising a frontispiece and in-text vignettes lithographed in bistre.
A remarkable science fiction tale set in 1954, which appeared in instalments in *La Vie électrique* in 1890.
Limited edition of 100 copies on Japanese paper and 200 on Chinese paper.
One of the 200 non-commercial copies on China paper. This copy was presented to Mr G. Loche, inscribed and signed in blue pencil by the publisher.
Lithographs accompanied by a black-and-white suite on China paper, a precursor to modern printing techniques.
Copy enhanced with a lovely futuristic watercolour in colour signed by Robida and a separate print of the front cover.
