Large 8vo, portrait of the author, 368 pp., ill. Blue morocco, spine with five raised and dotted raised bands, author, title, place and date in gold lettering, richly decorated panels, three gilt fillets framing the covers with fleurons in the spandrels, double gilt fillet on the headbands and footbands, gilt roulettes and fillets edging the half-bounds, gilt edges, original cover preserved [Chambolle-Duru] (very slight soiling on the upper cover, minor foxing on the endpapers and a few leaves at the beginning and end of the volume).
