Quarto, (8) leaves, 300-(1) pp., 15 plates including a frontispiece. Contemporary fawn half-shagreen with corners, spine with dotted raised bands edged with gilt fillets, green title label, double gilt fillet on the covers (minor scuffing on the edges, foxing).

First edition printed in a run of just 550 copies, 500 of which are on heavy paper; these are numbered by hand from 120 and signed by the author.
The illustrations consist of a frontispiece and 14 wood-engraved plates in black, with a hunting motif on the title page and the coat of arms of Bellier de Villiers opposite the last page.
