Large 8vo, (3) leaves including one blank, XI-40-(1) pp. Red morocco, spine with raised ribs edged in gold, author’s name and title. gilded place and date, double gilded fillet framing on the panels and triple gilded fillet on the covers, double gilded fillet on the headbands and footbands, ornamental framing of multiple fillets and a scroll with a metal tool at the corners, all gilded, olive-coloured cloth lining on the endpapers and endcaps, cover and spine preserved, in a marbled slipcase [E. Carayon] (foxing).

In a beautiful binding by Carayon.

Illustrated edition featuring a small portrait on the title page and numerous vignettes within the text by Alexandre Lunois.
