In large in-16 format, (12)-CCCLX ff. (incorrectly numbered CCCLXVI), [marked a8-b4; a8-z8; &8; A8-Z8], title in red and black, woodcuts and sieve-printed initials. Modern brown morocco, ribbed spine, title, place and date gilded, double blind-stamped line framing the panels and covers, gilded line on the edges and caps, roulette and triple gilded line on the inside, gilded edges. [R. Aussourd] (title slightly tarnished, last leaf slightly faded and discreetly restored, a few light foxing spots, old handwritten marks redacted in the margins of a few folios).
First edition in round script and illustrated, printed by Pierre Vidoue for Galliot du Pré (as stated in the colophon).
A wood-engraved typographic mark by Galliot du Pré and 10 wood-engraved vignettes within the text, some of which are taken from 15th-century editions, whilst others appear in the *Roman de la rose* published in the same year.
A fine copy in an elegant binding by René Aussourd.
