Sand-coloured morocco, spine with raised ribs, title and author’s name in gold, double framing of a triple brown fillet on the endpapers and covers, inner covers lined with green calfskin, edged with 4 brown fillets and a gold fillet, green satin endpapers, edges gilt on endpapers, cover and spine preserved [Semet & Plumelle] (spine darkened, corners rubbed, small sporadic brown stain in some margins).

First edition.

A fine copy of this ironic novel, written in a lively style.

Limited edition of 25 numbered copies, one of the first five printed on old Japanese paper (no. 5).

Accompanied by an autograph letter signed by Tristan Bernard.

One sheet in in-8 format, dated 12 August [1925?] and presumably addressed [to Lucien Descaves] (according to a handwritten note), a journalist, novelist and libertarian playwright, and one of the founders of the Académie Goncourt.
