Pierre Nogaret

Born in Paris in 1718, Pierre Nogaret became the most famous chairmaker in Lyon during the reign of Louis XV. Trained by François Girard, he crafted armchairs, sofas, and chairs, most commonly in walnut, finely carved with decorations of roses, scrolls, and small flowers, all in a graceful curved form.
