Roger Vivier collection

A historic auction illustrating "50 years of creation by the most inventive shoemaker of the 20th century": a total sale of €620,000.

Originating from a meeting with Roger Vivier's son during an auction in Tangier in July 2009, this sale truly marked the end of 2011 in the world of art and fashion. This collection, which was on loan at the Museum of Shoes in Romans, gathered 350 exceptional prototypes (left foot), absolute symbols of elegance and refinement, some of which were made specifically for celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor, Brigitte Bardot, Jeanne Moreau, Talitha Getty, John Lennon, Cary Grant, and Cecil Beaton...

Several record bids were achieved, including €19,000 for an evening pump created for Princess Soraya. The strong support from the French government (55 preemptions for the Museum of Romans), the Roger Vivier house, the French Federation of Shoes, and German and American museums marked this unique sale.
