A collection of scientific instruments and devices related to science and technology will be dispersed on October 12. This collection brings together over 300 scientific objects gleaned by an amateur throughout his life, as he travelled the length and breadth of France. The collection includes instruments for demonstrating physical phenomena, steam engines (including two beautiful self-propelled locomotives), microscopes, Geissler tubes, clocks and a floor regulator. This collector exhibited these objects in an apartment in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.

This extremely rare regulator is a masterpiece of watchmaking by a Jesuit brother whose work testifies to his mastery of the art of watchmaking, which he must have practiced long before taking holy orders.
Born in Peramea, Spain, in 1821, Jesuit Brother Christophe Fornells entered the novitiate in the French province of Lyon at the age of 46, and died in Saint-Etienne in 1902, aged 81.
Estimate: €6,000 - €8,000

A cask from the historic GlenDronach distillery in Scotland, auctioned for the first time

The year 2023 celebrates the Excise Act, published in 1823. This act marked the birth of Scotch whisky, legalizing production and establishing its taxation by the British government. To mark the occasion, on October 23, Aguttes will honor one of Scotland's first distilleries, Glendronach, founded by James Allardice in 1826. The contents of this unique cask were distilled in 1992, when the stills were coal-fired and malting rooms were still in use. This single malt matured for 30 years in one of the most remarkable Oloroso casks. Bottled in 2023, its capacity represents a total of around 600 bottles. The natural reduction in alcohol during maturation has given it incomparable aromatic concentration.

Sale of the contents of a whisky cask from The Glendronach distillery, a set of 630 bottles of single cask #7417,
a 30-year-old single malt whisky distilled in November 1992 and bottled in June 2023.
Estimation: 300 000 - 400 000 €

On November 8, 2023, Aguttes will be dispersing the contents of Maison Sémonville, an apartment in a private mansion in Neuilly-sur-Seine (Paris IVe). "In our exciting mission as creators of dreams, we attach particular importance to the quality of details. We focus on the rhythm and symmetry of the architecture, the poetry of the decor and the sensuality of the materials and finishes." - John Coury & Florent Maillard

Masterfully integrated into a private mansion dating from 1630, located in the 4th arrondissement of Paris,
this group of 150 lots, estimated at between €100 and €300,000, will be auctioned by Aguttes on November 8, 2023.
