Yang Sanlang (1907–1995) was a Taiwanese painter considered one of the pioneers of Western-style painting in Taiwan. Born in Taipei, he studied art at the Kyoto School of Fine Arts in Japan. His work was influenced by European Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, with a preference for landscapes, urban scenes, and luminous colors. After World War II, he played an important role in the development of modern Taiwanese art and helped popularize Western-style painting on the island. Today, he is recognized as one of the major figures in the history of Taiwanese art. His former residence has been converted into the Yang Sanlang Art Museum, dedicated to preserving his artistic legacy.
